AI Image Generator
Updated 14 September 2026 · Twin AI Labs
An AI image generator is a tool that creates a finished picture from a text description in 10–30 seconds. You write what you want to see and the model paints it from scratch — no photographer, no designer, no stock libraries. Twin AI puts 17 such models in one window at 200 credits per generation: GPT Image 2.5 Sunburst, Nano Banana 2, Seedream 5 Pro and more. Free to start, no subscription lock-in.

What is an AI image generator
An AI image generator (text-to-image tool) is a model trained on millions of text-and-picture pairs. It reads a natural-language prompt and synthesizes a new image pixel by pixel rather than fetching one from a database. That is why the result is unique — the picture never existed before.
In Twin AI generation starts with a single line: open /create/photo, describe the scene — “a ginger cat astronaut in a helmet against a nebula, cinematic light” — and get 4–6 variants in 10–30 seconds. The same composer also accepts an uploaded photo as a reference when you want to edit an existing image instead of drawing from scratch.
What an image generator can do
Modern models moved far beyond “draw me something.” In one Twin AI window you get several modes at once:
- Text-to-image — a picture from scratch based on a prompt in English or Russian
- Image editing (image-edit) — swap background, outfit or objects on an uploaded photo while keeping the likeness
- Text inside images — captions, logos, covers and memes with readable type
- Upscaling and detailing — increase resolution to 2K–4K without mush
- Stylization — turn a photo into anime, a 3D figure, watercolor or cyberpunk
- Infographics and banners — product cards, social previews, slide visuals
Which models are inside Twin AI
Twin AI Labs (twinailabs.com) is a 12-person team behind an AI platform that puts 30+ models for photo, video and chat into one interface — web, iOS and Android. It works from Russia without a VPN, accepts local cards and SBP, and runs in English and Russian. One account and one credit balance cover every model.
For image generation the strongest picks in the catalogue are these (Twin Elo in brackets — the rating built from users’ blind A/B votes; every model costs the same 200 credits per generation):
- GPT Image 2.5 (1186) and GPT Image 2.5 Sunburst (1180) — top of the catalogue: precise long-prompt adherence, readable text in frame, careful edits
- Nano Banana 2 (1122) and Nano Banana Pro (1097) — the most accurate image-edit: keep a face or object from one photo, swap background and style cleanly
- Seedream 5 Pro (1009) and Qwen 3 Pro (1023) — photorealism: natural skin, realistic light and depth for portraits and product shots
- Seedream 5 Pro (1080) — a warm cinematic palette for art; Qwen 3 Pro (1084) — cheap high-volume runs
- What Twin AI does not have, stated plainly: Midjourney, Ideogram, Adobe Firefly, Recraft and Stable Diffusion. GPT Image 2.5 Sunburst (text and complex scenes) and Seedream 5 Pro (photorealism) cover their jobs — that is a substitute, not the same model
Which model families set the bar in 2026
Ask which AI generates the best photo from a description and the answer almost always names the same nine families. Here is what the primary sources say about them as of 14 Sep 2026, and which of them Twin AI carries:
| Family | Current version as of 14 Sep 2026 | What it wins at | In Twin AI |
|---|---|---|---|
| GPT Image (OpenAI) | GPT Image 2.5 Sunburst and Flare, 2026-09-08 snapshots | Long-prompt adherence, text in frame, precise edits | Yes — 200 credits, Twin Elo 1186 and 1180 |
| Gemini / Nano Banana (Google) | Nano Banana 2, Nano Banana Pro | Instruction-driven edits of an existing photo | Yes — 200 credits, Twin Elo 1122 and 1097 |
| FLUX (Black Forest Labs) | FLUX.2 [pro], [dev], [klein] | Photorealism, up to 10 reference images | No — Seedream 5 Pro covers the job in Twin AI |

| Ideogram | Ideogram 4.0 | Typography, 95% text accuracy claimed | No — ideogram.ai |
| Adobe Firefly | Firefly inside Photoshop and Lightroom | Adobe integration and commercial licensing | No — Adobe subscription |
| Stable Diffusion (Stability AI) | SD 3.5 Large, Large Turbo, Medium | Open weights, run on your own GPU | No — self-host |
- GPT Image (OpenAI) — on the arena.ai photorealistic text-to-image leaderboard (updated September 7, 2026) OpenAI holds the top three: gpt-image-2.5-sunburst (1423), gpt-image-2.5-flare (1406) and gpt-image-2 medium (1381 on 30,097 votes). OpenAI’s own dall-e-3 doc page points to GPT-Image-2.5 Sunburst, whose snapshot — like Flare’s — is dated September 8, 2026. Twin AI carries GPT Image 2.5, GPT Image 2.5 Sunburst and GPT Image 2 at 200 credits per generation.
- Midjourney — V8.1 became the default model on June 11, 2026: per Midjourney’s note it is “smarter, more coherent”, adheres to detailed prompts better and renders text better than before, and in HD mode returns twice the size and four times the resolution of V7 — 4 seconds in SD, 12 in HD. V8.2 shipped on July 24, 2026. Subscription-only; not in Twin AI.
- Imagen and Veo (Google) — Imagen 3 and Veo on Vertex AI were announced on December 4, 2024 as Google’s “highest quality” models with an invisible SynthID watermark in every frame; in Twin AI the Google line is represented by Nano Banana Pro and Nano Banana 2, and Veo 3.1 for video.
- FLUX.2 (Black Forest Labs) — up to 4 megapixels, up to 10 reference images at once, 32K text tokens per prompt, with [dev] and [klein] variants under open weights; not carried in Twin AI.
- Stable Diffusion 3.5 (Stability AI) — Large, Large Turbo and Medium under the Stability AI Community License, free for commercial and non-commercial use and built to “run on consumer hardware”; the route for your own GPU, not in Twin AI.
- Ideogram — the site lists Ideogram 4.0 and 3.0, and its text-rendering page claims 95% text accuracy for posters, packaging and signage. The strongest pick when the lettering matters more than the picture; not in Twin AI — the closest substitute for text in frame is GPT Image 2.5 Sunburst.
- Adobe Firefly — the route for people already inside Creative Cloud: generation and edits live directly in Photoshop and Lightroom, with licensing aimed at commercial use. A separate Adobe subscription; not in Twin AI.
How to generate an image in a minute
Step 1. Open /create/photo and pick the text-to-image mode.
Step 2. Describe the picture as specifically as possible: subject, style, light, angle, mood. The more detailed the prompt, the closer the result — “a minimalist coffee-shop logo, brown-and-beige palette, flat vector on a white background.”
Step 3. Pick a model for the job: Seedream 5 Pro for photorealism, GPT Image 2.5 Sunburst when you need readable text in frame or a complex scene, Nano Banana 2 for editing an existing shot.
Step 4. Get 4–6 variants. Refine the one you like with a follow-up prompt — change details while keeping the composition.
Step 5. Download in the size you need. Want to compare models on one prompt? Turn on compare mode and see the results side by side.
How to write a good prompt
About 70% of an image’s quality comes from the prompt. A few rules that noticeably improve the result:
- State subject + action + environment + style: “a woman drinking coffee by a window, morning light, film photography”
- Add camera and light cues: “soft diffused light,” “macro shot,” “wide angle” — the model understands them
- Name the style explicitly: watercolor, 3D render, isometric, neon, minimalism — otherwise you get an average look
- Trim the unwanted via a negative prompt: “no text, no extra hands, no distortion”
- Generate 4–6 variants and pick the best — it is cheaper than chasing one “perfect” prompt
Formats, aspect ratios and resolution
Different platforms need different frame proportions, and the generator sets them right in the prompt. No manual cropping — the model draws for the target format from the start:
- 16:9 — YouTube thumbnails, banners, presentation slides and desktop backgrounds
- 1:1 — avatars, feed posts, icons and card previews
- 9:16 and 3:4 — stories, Reels and vertical product cards for marketplaces
- 4:3 — the classic editorial format for articles and collages
- 2K resolution is enough for social media, 4K (GPT Image 2) for print and large banners
How much image generation costs
One Nano Banana Pro generation = 200 credits ≈ $1.20 (prices updated 10 Sep 2026 from the models API). A batch of 10–15 images in different styles runs about 2,000–3,000 credits ≈ $12–18. Free credits on sign-up are enough to test several models before you pay. The Start subscription from $15/month gives 2,600 credits every month — exact tiers are on /pricing.
Unlike Midjourney (which needs Discord) or direct Nano Banana access through Google, Twin AI runs in the browser with no extra setup and lets you compare engines in one place. You pay only for what you generate, and credits are shared across every model, so trying a second engine on the same prompt does not mean a second subscription.
Where generated images are used
An image generator covers dozens of jobs that used to need a designer, a photographer or a stock license. Because generation takes seconds and costs cents, teams use it for fast iteration — drafting several concepts before committing to one:
- Product cards and infographics for marketplaces — see /use-cases/marketplaces
- Avatars and business portraits — /use-cases/avatar and /use-cases/linkedin-photo
- Covers and illustrations for presentations — /use-cases/presentation
- Social media content, YouTube thumbnails, ad banners
- Concept art, article illustrations and design mockups

FAQ
Can I generate images for free?
Yes. Signing up for Twin AI gives you free credits — enough to generate several images and test different models before paying. After that you can continue on a subscription from ~$6/month or top up credits one-off.
Which model is best at text-to-image?
There is no universal winner — it depends on the task. As of 14 Sep 2026 the top of the arena.ai photorealism board is OpenAI’s line: gpt-image-2.5-sunburst (1423), gpt-image-2.5-flare (1406), gpt-image-2 medium (1381). Seedream 5 Pro is stronger on portrait and product photorealism, Nano Banana 2 is unbeatable for editing an existing photo, Midjourney V8.1 wins on art and Ideogram 4.0 on typography. Twin AI carries GPT Image 2.5 and Sunburst, Nano Banana 2 and Pro, Seedream 5 Pro and Qwen 3 Pro — compare them on one prompt; Midjourney, Ideogram, Firefly and SD 3.5 are not in Twin AI.
Does the generator understand prompts in different languages?
Yes. Twin AI handles prompts in both English and Russian, and the interface is available in both. For very complex scenes English is sometimes slightly more precise, but for most tasks either language works.
What resolution do the images come in?
Models output up to 2K (Nano Banana Pro, Seedream 5 Pro) and up to 4K (GPT Image 2). That is enough for social media, print and product cards. If needed, an image can be enlarged further with upscaling.
Can I use generated images commercially?
Yes, images created in Twin AI can be used for product cards, ads, social media and other commercial tasks. For sensitive niches, make sure the image does not reproduce protected brands or the faces of real people without consent.
How is this different from generating from a photo?
Text-to-image creates a picture from scratch based on a description, while photo generation (image-edit) takes your shot as a base and changes it — background, style, outfit. In Twin AI it is the same /create/photo composer: with a reference it edits, without one it draws from scratch.
