How to generate an AI image from text or your own photo
Updated 10 September 2026 · Twin AI Labs
This page runs 15 image models — GPT Image 2.5, Nano Banana Pro, Seedream 5 Pro, Qwen 3 and more — from one prompt bar. Every image costs 200 credits regardless of model, resolution goes up to 4K, aspect ratios run from 1:1 to 21:9, and you can attach up to 16 reference photos to edit your own picture.
How to generate an image: 6 steps
The composer above is the tool itself. An account is only asked for when you press Generate — your prompt and uploaded references are kept, and a new account starts with free credits, no card.
- Pick a model. The model button in the composer opens a list of all 15 image models with price and preview; the first model in the list is preselected.
- Describe the image in the prompt field: subject, scene, lighting, style. Concrete wording beats long paragraphs.
- To edit your own photo, press “Add reference photo” and upload up to 16 images — the model switches to image-to-image mode.
- Set the aspect ratio and quality with the chips next to the prompt: formats from 1:8 to 8:1, quality 1K / 2K / 4K where the model offers it, and a transparent background on GPT Image 2.5.
- Press Generate. The price is shown on the button — 200 credits; the finished image appears on the canvas, the API estimates 20 seconds to 4 minutes depending on the model.
- Open the result and press Download. You can send the prompt back to the composer for another variation, or animate the image on /create/video.

All 15 models are live in the composer right now. Elo is the Artificial Analysis arena rating from blind side-by-side votes; the price is the base cost of one generation from the public API — image models carry no surcharges for quality or format.

Other ways to generate an image
If you only ever need one vendor’s model, the single-model apps below work too. Here is the neutral view, then what is different about Twin AI.
- ChatGPT — image generation inside the chat, tied to an OpenAI account and plan.
- Midjourney — subscription-only image model with its own web app and Discord bot.
- Ideogram — web image model known for rendering text inside images.
- What is different in Twin AI: 30+ models — GPT Image 2.5, GPT Image 2, Nano Banana Pro, Seedream and more — on one balance, credits billed only for what you actually generate, and side-by-side compare of several models on the same prompt.
What it costs
One image from any model on this page is 200 credits, whatever the resolution or format. Signup comes with free credits and no card; a subscription adds credits every month and unlocks premium models. Current plans and credit packs are on /pricing.

FAQ
How much does one AI image cost on Twin AI?
200 credits on any of the 15 models on this page; choosing 1K / 2K / 4K quality or a different aspect ratio does not change the price. Credit packs and plans are listed on /pricing.
Can I upload my own photo and edit it?
Yes. “Add reference photo” accepts up to 16 images, and 14 of the 15 models support image-to-image — background, style or outfit changes driven by the text prompt.
What is the maximum resolution?
4K on both GPT Image 2.5 tunings, GPT Image 2, Nano Banana 2, Nano Banana Pro and Wan 2.7; 2K on Qwen 3 and Qwen 3 Pro. GPT Image and every Seedream expose a quality level instead of a resolution, while Nano Banana 2 Lite, Qwen 2 and Grok Imagine Image 2.0 only expose the aspect ratio.
Which model should I start with?
By Artificial Analysis Elo the top three are GPT Image 2.5 (1186), GPT Image 2.5 Sunburst (1180) and GPT Image 2 (1171). For editing an existing photo, GPT Image 2.5 Sunburst leads the image-editing board outright at 1168; the price is the same 200 credits either way.
Do I need an account to try it?
You can write the prompt and attach references without an account; signup is asked for at the moment you press Generate, and a new account gets free credits with no card required.
